PITANGO BAKERY
OUR MISSION
Pitango Bakery + Café opened in 2015 with the same focus on honest ingredients and attention to detail that we devote to Pitango Gelato.
We are inspired by Italian bakeries and legendary Italian sandwich shops, where all imported cured meats and cheeses are sourced from reputable suppliers and all baked-goods are crafted fresh daily.
Focaccia
Derived from focus—the Latin word for hearth—focaccia is a traditional Italian flatbread known for its airy interior and crisp, bubbly crust. We incorporate a touch of sourdough starter into each batch, adding a subtle tang and satisfying stretch to the dough.
After a full day of resting, the focaccia is baked to perfection for the ideal flavor and texture. We believe that great sandwiches start with great bread, and our focaccia is the perfect foundation for showcasing high-quality imported meats and cheeses.
Croissants & Pastry
We hand-roll and proof our croissants daily, crafting each one from scratch with care. Alongside our flaky, rotating croissant selection, our robust pastry program features cookies, muffins, and scones—some baked with seasonal produce, others packaged for nationwide shipping. Everything is freshly baked each day by our dedicated team of bakers and pastry chefs.
Prosciutto
We source our Prosciutto di Parma directly from producers in Parma, Italy, where the hams are carefully cured and aged without any preservatives or additives. This slow, natural fermentation process is what gives the prosciutto its irresistible flavor and aroma.
While most restaurants use prosciutto that has been deboned and vacuum-sealed for convenience, we’re proud to be one of the few American purveyors that import and serve bone-in Prosciutto di Parma. Like a fine bottle of aged wine, bone-in prosciutto develops deeper, more complex flavor and retains better moisture thanks to traditional on-the-bone aging.
